On this page
This page gives information about how to update your billing details for land tax and the emergency services levy.
To improve our service and security, we have enhanced the process for updating your billing address for land tax and emergency services levy assessments. Key improvements include:
- Secure user verification to protect taxpayer information
- CAPTCHA authentication for secure access
- Real-time updates so changes are reflected immediately
- Real-time address validation using Quick Address System (QAS) to ensure your new address is verified and deliverable.
Updating your details
Keeping your contact details up to date helps ensure you receive important correspondence on time and avoid assessment errors or penalties.
- Complete the Billing Address Update form in RevenueSA Online.
You will need to provide:
- A valid email address you can access to authenticate the request
- The name of at least one landholder listed on the ownership
- Your ownership number (found on your Land Tax Assessment or Notice of Emergency Services Assessment)
- Alternatively, you may provide:
- The assessment number of one of the properties in the ownership
- The address of one of the properties in the ownership
Important: If you own land under multiple ownerships, you will need to complete a separate form for each ownership you wish to update. Changes will be reflected in the assessments for both land tax and the emergency services levy.
Your ownership and assessment numbers are both shown on your Land Tax Assessment and your Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessment.
Find our more about how to read your assessment.
Your assessment number may also be listed as a 'valuation number' on your SA Water rates or council rates notice.

Managing your preferences
You can tailor how your assessments and notices are issued and addressed to better suit your property and communication preferences.
Note:
- Separate assessments (for land tax) or notices (for emergency services levy) for individual properties under the same ownership cannot be issued.
- Any changes made to your billing preferences will be updated for both your Land Tax Assessment and Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessment.
To change a name registered on the Certificate of Title, you must apply through Land Services SA. Land Services SA will then advise RevenueSA of any changes of names.
You may request to change the mailing name for future assessments or notices without altering the title, provided used is one or a combination of the registered owners on the title.
The name shown on your assessment (for land tax) or notice (for emergency services levy )is limited to approximately 40 characters so may be a shortened version of the name or names registered on the Certificate of Title.
If a property is owned by 2 or more entities, all names will appear on the Certificate of Title. However, our ownership records will display only the first name listed, with any additional names abbreviated as ANR or ORS:
- ANR stands for Another
- ORS stands for Others
Your Land Tax Assessment and Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessment can only be issued in the name of the registered owner.
However, you may request that your assessment be sent care of another person or company; for example, a managing agent, without changing the ownership details.
Note: Because assessments and notices are calculated based on ownership, any request to have an assessment issued care of another person, company, or managing agent will include all properties held under the same ownership.
Care of another person or company
- Complete the Billing Address Update form
- In the field Postal address if different to residential address, include the name of the person or company your assessment will be sent to.
Managing Agent
If you are a managing agent and wish to receive assessment notices on behalf of property owners:
- Register using the Register as a managing agent form.
- If you manage multiple properties complete and upload a managing agent schedule (Word 128KB) with your registration.
You can remove the name of a deceased owner from the mailing details of your Land Tax Assessment and Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessment without affecting the Certificate of Title.
To update or remove a mailing name you can use either of the following forms:
Land Tax
- Use the Lodge a Land Tax Query form.
- Under My enquiry is about..., select: Your Land Tax Assessment Notice.
- Select: A landowner on the Land Tax Assessment is deceased and complete the form.
Emergency Services Levy
- Use the Emergency Services Levy Query form.
- Under What is your query?, select A land owner on the Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessment is deceased and complete the form.
Your update will be reflected in future Land Tax Assessments and Notice of Emergency Services Levy Assessments.
Note: Mailing names must match one or more registered proprietors or reflect a legal name change.
If a landowner has passed away and you need to update the Certificate of Title:
- Submit an application to Land Services SA.
- Land Services SA will advise RevenueSA of any changes to the Certificate of Title.
