Covering stamp duty relief for eligible first home buyers

Stamp duty relief for eligible first home buyers was recently introduced in the 2023 State Budget.

An eligible first home buyer may receive relief that will:

  • reduce their stamp duty to zero if the value of the new home is $650,000 or less (or $400,000 for vacant land); or
  • partially reduce their stamp duty if the value of the new home is between $650,001 and $700,000 (or $400,001 and $450,000 for vacant land);

and applies if the contract to purchase was entered into on or after 15 June 2023.

RevenueSA invite you to join one of our webinars. Separate webinars are being held for first home buyers and tax professionals.
