Can you finalise your application today and be paid the $25,000 or $15,000?

If one of the following applies to you, you can apply for your payment:

  • the building of your new home has commenced, and you have paid your first progress (footings) payment;
  • you have commenced renovations on your home, and you have paid at least $150,000 for eligible building works;
  • the Certificate of Title for an off-the-plan home has been registered in your name and a practical completion certificate has been issued; or
  • the Certificate of Title for a new home has been registered in your name and your builder has issued a handover statement/invoice.

Visit our HomeBuilder Grant page to find out what documentation you need to provide and how to finalise your application for payment. Your builder will be able to provide you with the required documentation, however it is not your builders responsibility to submit to RevenueSA on your behalf.

All documentation must be supplied by 30 April 2023, but don’t leave it to the last minute.

Some fine print:

To receive the grant you must:

  • meet all relevant eligibility criteria. See our HomeBuilder Grant page for details.
  • retain ownership of the property and occupy it as your principal place of residence for a continuous period of at least 6 months within 12 months of the date construction was completed

The amount you could be paid will depend on when you signed your eligible contract:

  • $25,000 when signed between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020
  • $15,000 when signed between 1 January 2021 and 31 March 2021

If the build or renovation is no longer proceeding, or your builder has advised that they will not meet the 18-month commencement date timeframe, please let us know and we will close your application. You can advise us by email to homebuildergrant@sa.gov.au along with your reference number and property address.
