BPAY payment option will be available for payment of land tax and emergency services levy on Certificates from 20 March 2025.

The option to pay via BPAY will allow anyone to pay the amount due, it will no longer be restricted to the professional or organisation who ordered the Certificate.

To ensure your payment is allocated to the correct property, and to gain a land tax indemnity, you will need to make sure that you use the BPAY reference shown on the certificate when setting up the payment from your bank account.

Please note that each of the following has a different BPAY reference:

  • Land Tax Assessment;
  • Notice of Emergency Services Levy;
  • Emergency Services Levy Certificate; and
  • Land Tax Certificate.

The correct BPAY details will be shown in the payment option section of each document.

The reverse side of land tax and emergency services levy Certificates will be updated as follows:

Have a current certificate and want to pay the amount due via BPAY? Just refresh your certificate in RevenueSA Online after 20 March 2025 to receive the BPAY reference details.

Some things to be aware of when paying by BPAY:

  • Each certificate has a unique reference number, so please make sure payments are made against each certificate.
  • BPAY payments are not instant payments and may take a couple of days to be received by RevenueSA – so make sure you set up the payment prior to the due date of the certificate if you wish to be protected by the land tax indemnity.
  • The reference details of the Certificate and an owners Land Tax Assessment or Notice of Emergency Services Levy are different.
    Using the BPAY reference shown on the Certificate (and not the Assessment/Notice) will ensure the payment is applied to the relevant property and, where applicable, a land tax indemnity is applied.
    Payments made using the reference details on the Assessment/Notice of Assessment are allocated to the ownership and not the property. A land tax indemnity is also not applied as payment must be made against the Certificate for this to occur.

Payment via RevenueSA Online is still available if you prefer to pay via this method.
