The Emergency Services Levy on your property is determined by the following formula:

Effective Fixed Charge + (Capital Value x Effective Area Factor x Effective Land Use Factor x Effective Levy Rate ) - Concessions

Use the levy calculator to work out how much you will have to pay on your property. Key in your capital value and click on the relevant area factor, land use factor, and whether you qualify for a concession.

= 0.8 (The areas of the cities and towns of Berri, Goolwa, Kadina, Loxton, Millicent, Mt Barker, Mt Gambier, Murray Bridge, Naracoorte, Nuriootpa, Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie, Renmark, Tanunda, Victor Harbor and Whyalla.)

Regional Area 2


= 0.5 (That part of the State outside of Regional Area 4 and Regional Area 1 but still within a council area.)

Regional Area 3


= 0.1 (That part of the State not within a council area.)
Regional Area 4


= 1.0 (Land within all metropolitan councils, the Adelaide Hills Council, Corporation of the Town of Gawler, City of Onkaparinga and City of Playford.)

Industrial checkbox = 1.815
Rural/Vacant Land checkbox = 0.3
Other checkbox = 0.5
Other - Special Community Use checkbox = 0.1

The following denotes what is included in the Special Community Use category.

Institutional Residential, Orphan's Accommodation, Religious Quarters - Monasteries, Retired and Aged Accommodation, Old Folk's Homes, Institutional Residential Accommodation N.E.C, Social Welfare, Social Services and Welfare Provision, YMCA and YWCA Facilities, Charitable Organisations, Missions for Aborigines, Social Welfare N.E.C, Places of Assembly, Churches, Seminaries, Public Halls, Girl Guides, Boy Scouts, Youth Centres, Medical & Health, Hospital, Private Hospital, Community Hospital, Mental Hospital, Sanatoria, Nursing Homes, Convalescent and Rest Homes, Health centre, MBHA Clinics, Cemeteries, Public Conveniences and Public Utilities N.E.C.

However if you live in Regions 2 and 3 and your capital value is less than $1000 you will not be levied.

A Notice of Emergency Service Levy Assessment will not be issued until the balance is above $10.
