Add an intermediary user

Users with Administrator (Users) level of access have the ability to create new users and maintain existing users for their organisation.

  1. From the RevNet Menu select Maintenance and then Maintain Users from the Maintenance sub-menu. The Maintain Users screen appears. Existing users for the organisation, will be displayed.

  1. Click on the Add New User button and the Add A RevNet User screen is displayed.

  1. Complete this screen using the following table as a guide:

Field

Description

Username

Enter the username of the user. The username contains two separate fields:

  • The first field defaults with the client ID and this field cannot be altered.

  • The second field is used to uniquely identify the user. You can have up to a maximum of 7 characters in this field. We recommend you use up to the first 4 letters of the user’s surname and then the first letter of their given name.

Example:  If creating Jane Brown as a user for Client ID 19317753, you will only need to type in “browj”, thereby making the full username of '19317753browj'.

Remember: Usernames and Passwords are case sensitive.

Full Name

Enter the given name and surname of the user. (Maximum 25 characters in length).

Password

Enter a password for the user to use the first time they logon to RevNet. The password must be a minimum of 6 characters in length and a maximum of 20 characters and is case sensitive. It can be made up of letters, numbers or a combination of both.

User must change password at next logon

This field automatically defaults with a tick when the Password field is completed, indicating that the user will be forced to change their password when they next log onto RevNet. This field should always be ticked for new users and when resetting passwords for existing users.

Phone Number

Enter the contact telephone number (including area code) for the user.

Email Address

Enter the email address for the user.

Date Range

The Date From field will default to today's date and cannot be changed. The Date To field will default to an expiry date of 31/12/2099. This is the date the user will become inactive in RevNet (at 12 midnight on the date specified). You can alter this date by typing the date in the Date To field in the format of DD/MM/YYYY or by selecting a date by clicking on the calendar_icon.gif calendar icon.

  1. The Standard Business Reporting fields can be disregarded when setting up an intermediary user. These fields are only populated once the users commences using their SBR enabled software if applicable.

  2. Different users can be assigned various levels of access or permissions. These are assigned by the Administrator (User) and can be modified at any time. Only RevenueSA can add Administrator (User) permissions to a user.

To assign permissions click on the checkbox.gif next to the function you wish to give them access to. A tick will appear in the box to indicate that the function has been selected. The table below describes the permissions for the Payroll Tax component of RevNet.
 

Field

Description

Administrator (Client Data)

Allows the user to maintain default bank account details.

Annual Reconciliation

Has access to the annual reconciliation function in RevNet.

Authorise Payments

User can access return processing and annual reconciliation functionality, enter and authorise payments. A user at this level automatically receives Annual Reconciliation and Enter Payments permissions.

Enter Payments

Can access return processing and annual reconciliation functionality and enter payments. A user at this level automatically receives Annual Reconciliation permission. This user does not have the ability to authorise payments.

  1. The Intermediary Authority section will list your own organisation's details if you are an existing Payroll Tax client and also will list all clients that your organisation as an Intermediary has been authorised to act on behalf of. Click on the box next the organisation/s that this user has been authorised to act on behalf of.

Remember the permissions of an intermediary user is limited by the access of the organisation they are acting on behalf of. Eg: In the example below, when Fred Bloggs logs onto RevNet on behalf of ABC Company Pty Ltd, he will only be able to process ABC Company Pty Ltd's Payroll Tax returns using EFT.

  1. Once you have selected the appropriate permissions and intermediary authority for the user, click on the OK button. You will be returned to the Maintain Users screen with the new user added to the Users and Permissions table.
